Soul

At Flourish House, we love taking time to rest, eat and worship together. The spiritual practice we want to encourage you to try this week is a finger labyrinth, a smaller-scale version of a labyrinth in which you use your finger to follow the path instead of your feet. Finger labyrinths can come in all shapes, sizes and complexities, so find one that fits the needs of your spiritual practice. Following a labyrinth can be a time of relaxation, prayer or deep thinking.

How to do a Finger Labyrinth Meditation?

  1. Take a deep breath to centre yourself in practice. Try to breathe deeply and slowly throughout the meditation.
  2. Place a finger at the labyrinth entrance. If you can, try using your non-dominate hand. This extra challenge can help you stay focused on the meditation.
  3. Slowly run your finger through the labyrinth. Let your mind grow quiet as you simply follow the path.
  4. Once you hit the centre, give yourself a moment to rest a breathe deeply.
  5. When you are ready, retrace the path back to the labyrinth opening.
